computers
A comment was posted to the blog by an anonymous person claiming that the district broke the law by not going to bid for a computer purchase over $10,000. The comment also made some negative remarks that I felt were innapropriate for public viewing so I decided not to post the actual comment but I will respond to the issue of obtaining bids. Illinois School Code 105 5/10-20.21 specifies that certain categories of expenditures are exempt from the bidding process, including computers. The district broke no laws by not obtaining bids for the computer purchase. Even though we were not required to conduct a formal bidding process, the district DID obtain competitive quotes and chose the company with the lowest price for the same high-quality machines. |

non-resident students
Have info about a kid who lives on the West Side of Chicago..Mom drops him at Grandmas house every morning around 6pm,he says he goes here because the schools are better and safer. He also says he was told not to talk to anybody at school about where he lives.
Please call the district
Please call the district office to report any and all suspected non-resident students. While we require proof of residency when students enroll, some of have found ways to produce fraudulant information to enroll students who do not live in our district. We employ a private investation firm that investigates all suspected non-resident students. If you provide the information to us, we will investigate and exclude the student if they do not belong in our district.
where is all the info
I heard that at the October school board meeting it was suggested that all info and research, for and against the restructuring to grade-level centers was going to be posted on the website for everyone to see. As of today it is still not here. Why?
The sub-committee of
The sub-committee of Citizens Advisory Council that is doing the research is still putting together the report. The research committee will be giving a full report to the board on November 13. All of the research and a summary report will be posted to the website after this meeting.
The FAQ (frequently asked questions) have been posted to the website since the last board meeting. Other information will be posted as it becomes available.
