The Future Ready network recommends that parents are given the opportunity to complete the Future Ready assessments. After hearing from many of you, we agree that the surveys may not provide parents the opportunities to really express their views. We also agree that the surveys are cumbersome and ask questions that most parents would not have the answer to. Therefore, we are not going to use these parent surveys in our Future Ready assessment. For those of you that started them and let us know how difficult they were, thank you for helping us reshape our approach.

We did gain valuable input from parents on the 5essential survey that was completed earlier this year. We will be looking at that data as we plan for improvement.

We still believe that parent input is critical in our planning for improvement but do not believe these surveys are the best way to get that information. We are including parents on the Future Ready Leadership Team so that parent input may be obtained as we develop our goals and strategies. We will reach out to the parent organizations to identify parents to serve on the Future Ready Leadership Team.

We apologize for this inconvenience. This is the first time we administered these surveys and were following the recommendations provided by the Future Ready network. As always, we appreciate all parent involvement and input.
